A link that Google can crawl is one that can be followed. Links with a faulty URL are hence links that cannot be crawled; crawlers cannot use these links but the page's JavaScript code may.

Only links containing an a> element and a href attribute are clickable by Google. The Google crawlers won't follow links in other formats. Due to script events, Google cannot follow a> links without a href tag or other tags that execute a links.
