It debuted in that year. ES5 is capable of working with primitive data types like string, numeric, boolean, null, and undefined. In ES6, the JavaScript data types have undergone some changes. A new primitive data type named "symbol" was presented in order to permit distinct values.

  • It first appeared in 2015. Primitive data types like string, number, boolean, null, and undefined are supported by ES5. The JavaScript data types have some modifications in ES6. In order to enable distinct values, a new primitive data type called "symbol" was introduced.
