A popular scripting language for web development, JavaScript is an open-source computer language. On the other hand, AJAX is a collection of technologies made up of related development approaches that are applied to both standalone apps and web development. AJAX can be used to increase the capabilities of JavaScript programming because it is based on extensive frameworks and libraries.

AJAX delivers and receives data from a server, whereas JavaScript handles client-side actions. When JavaScript and AJAX are used together, code can be run on the client side computer without having to repeatedly ask for a page to refresh only because a server request for data is made.
