Diagrams, images, code listings, and drawings are all considered self-contained content and are designated with the figure> tag. The main flow of the page shouldn't be affected by removing the figure> element, even though its placement is separate from the main flow and its content is related to the main flow.

  • The figure> tag designates self-contained material, such as diagrams, pictures, code listings, and drawings. Even if the figure> element's content is connected to the main flow, its placement is separate from the main flow, therefore removing it shouldn't have an impact on the document's flow.
